Johan has done an amazing number of good things in this world, including Superintend for Friends United Meeting for a couple of years, Pastor at Portland’s Reedwood Friends Church, do mission work in Russia, and marry Judy – smart guy! He also reads everything, and knows everybody worth knowing. His blog is an education in itself.

Trauma Healing And Reconciliation Services: Thars was founded over ten years ago by Pastor David Niyonzima and his colleagues. THARS is known and respected internationally for their work in healing the wounds of the '93 crisis in Rwanda and Burundi.
Lajee Children's Center: Since 2000 the volunteers and staff at the Lajee Center in Aida refugee camp in Occupied Bethlehem, have provided activities, direction, and hope for the refugee Palestinian children of this camp. Also, they extended their hospitality to me in late April 2007.
